Polystyrene Foam
An economical and light weight material, EPS is easy to fabricate. Generally used for blocking, bracing, void fill, or cushioning of light to heavy weight products. Available from stock in densities of 1, 1-1/2, and 2 pounds per cubic foot, it can be hot wire cut into sheets, blocks, or shapes. It is also easily fabricated into end caps or trays, as shown.
Laminated to corrugated, it becomes a convenient and affordable total package insert. Tooling is inexpensive, making custom fabrication of this material an economical yet effective alternative to molded EPS where volume projections preclude high mold costs.
